Sarah Ferguson made this adorable tribute to Prince Andrew at Eugenie’s wedding
Sarah Ferguson was married to Prince Andrew for ten years after tying the knot on 23 July 1986. Although the couple are no longer together, they appear to have kept close as a family with their children, Princess Beatrice, 30, and Princess Eugenie. Last year, Princess Eugenie married her long-term partner, Jack Brooksbank, 33, and some royal fans spotted Sarah’s sweet nod to her ex-husband. The Duchess wore a stunning emerald green outfit which had a special link to her own wedding with Prince Andrew.
Princess Eugenie married on 12 October 2018 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
At the ceremony, the mother-of-the-bride, Sarah Ferguson, wore a green long-sleeved wrap dress which featured a silk collar which continued down before pulling in at the waist.
The dress, designed by Ascot designer Emma Louise, had a string of buttons down the back and she paired this with a matching green hat by Jess Collett.
By choosing an emerald design, Sarah made a lovely gesture to Eugenie, who had chosen to wear the Greville Emerald wedding tiara.
Eugenie was believed to pick the colourful stone for her tiara to link to Sarah’s Irish roots and Sarah acknowledged that by wearing a matching outfit.
The Duchess of York also used her fashion to link to her wedding to Prince Andrew.
Sarah wore a pair of nude crocodile high heeled shoes which had a tassel at the back.
To match the shoes, she carried a vintage Manolo Blahnik clutch bag in a light brown colour.
This was the same bag her own mother carried to Sarah’s wedding with Andrew over 20-years-ago.
Although the pair separated, her sweet choice of bag suggested Sarah still holds fond memories of her big day.
Sarah is not afraid to make bold statements and also did this by breaking royal tradition at her own wedding.
Most royal brides around the time opted for a long bouquet of flowers, but Sarah chose to carry a small bunch instead.
Sarah and Andrew may have been separated for much longer than they were together, but royal fans often call for them to reunite.
In a recent Instagram post, the Duchess of York shared photos to wish the Queen a happy birthday.
She also gushed over Prince Andrew and her two children in the message and some people called for them to get back together.
