Sarah Ferguson makes huge nod at Royal Family – is it a sign of a Prince Andrew reunion?
Sarah Ferguson attended the T.M. Glass Solo Exhibition “The Audible Language Of Flowers” in Toronto, Canada. For the event, she opted for a stylish green dress, which was cut to just above her knee. It had long-sleeves and a fit and flare cut. She also sported a pair of small gold hoop earrings.
The 59-year-old teamed it with a pair of dark black tights, as well as a pair of fashionable black shoes.
They are thought to be a pair of the limited edition Del Toro x Rotten Road Never Complain Slipper.
It was her footwear which was of particular interest, as the slippers had the motto “Never Complain, Never Explain” written across them.
And, while it may well be that it was a coincidence, it seems that this saying is one which is associated with the Royal Family.
According to reports, the phrase itself was coined by British political and former Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, who lived between 1804 and 1881.
It doesn’t take much to discover the whole host of reports of how the royals tend to follow the unwritten rule of “never explain, never complain”.
Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe commented on this supposed royal tradition.
In his book Prince Harry: The Inside Story, he penned: “There is an old rule of royal when it comes to their interaction with the media – ‘never complain, never explain’.
“To be seen to break either of these unwritten rules is generally considered to be a no-no, risking being dragged into a wider row that could ultimately backfire.”
It’s not the first time Sarah has worn these shoes.
Joined by her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice, 30, at a Street Child UK Education in Emergencies event back in February, she was spotted sporting them.
Sarah had teamed them with a black dress and bright blue blazer for that particular outing.
Fergie and her now ex-husband Prince Andrew, 59, married in 1986, but announced their separation in 1992.
Despite parting ways romantically, they remained friends, even after their divorce in 1996.
Sarah and Prince Andrew made headlines last month, after she shared photographs of their “wonderful” weekend trip to Bahrain with Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 35.
However, a spokesperson for the Duchess later confirmed that their relationship had not changed, and they remained good friends.
