Shazam: Major reshoots next month to include SUPERMAN? Is Henry Cavill back?

Shazam will hit cinemas next April so it is expected there will be some reshoots.

Studios typically review any blockbuster project four to six months before release and decide which storylines need strengthening, clarifying or even changing.

However, there have been persistent rumours and reports of a Cavill cameo in the DCEU movie since January, including a major tease from the actor’s own agent. 

Production Weekly has just reported that there will be three weeks of reshoots on the Zachary Levi movie.

Like the main shoot itself, all additional filming will take place in Toronto, with a projected start date after November 1.

Back in March, Cavill’s agent Dani Garcia posted a silhouette image of herself and the actor on a set. He appears to be in a costume and his hair definitely has a curl over his forehead.

She tagged the picture: “Who is this man? What are we saying? What are we planning? Oh, it’s goood… You’ll thank me later.”

There was speculation Superman might appear in Aquaman but the filmmakers have confirmed there are no major Justice League crossovers for the future king of Atlantis. Will Cavill really pick up the cape again, despite so many recent reports that he has left the franchise?

In January Revenge Of The Fans reported: “I’ve been told by a trusted source that Cavill is set to appear in Shazam! This decision comes after a bunch of internal discussions about where to place him next, since a sequel is still a ways off.”

Fans are still hoping the Man of Steel will fly on screen next Spring.

But then news broke last month that WB and Cavill had parted ways. The studio was quick to deny that any decision had been made, while Cavill contened himsef with amusing and confusing pictures and videos on social media.

However, the actor also revealed he has signed up as the lead in a major Netflix adaptation of The Witcher books and computer games. Could Garcia’s cryptic post actually be referrring to The Witcher?

Sadly, it seems less and less likely fans will ever see Cavill back in the red and blue costume.

All eyes will be on the Shazam reshoots but dont expect any leaks or rumours of the British star heading to Toronto any time soon.
