Spider-Man news: Awkward! Tom Holland comes face-to-face with predecessor Andrew Garfield

The young actor picked up the trophy for EE Rising Star at the ceremony, which was also attended by Andrew Garfield – nominated for Best Leading Actor.

Speaking backstage, Holland told press that the pair discussed the role changing hands – but luckily it was all very relaxed.

“We met for the first time today,” he beamed.

“It was really really nice. Andrew is a really lovely guy – everything I thought he would be.”

He added: “He is a brilliant actor too. I have always been a fan of his work.

“I’m really look forward to picking his brains and seeing if he has any advice for me.”

Speaking about his work as the Marvel hero, he enthused: “It’s a dream come true.

“Everyone wants to be Spider-Man, I’m just the lucky s*** who got to do it.”
