Star Wars 9 FIRED director Colin Trevorrow finally SPEAKS OUT

Last year the Jurassic World director was fired from helming Star Wars Episode IX after having working on in pre-production on the film for over a year.

What exactly transpired between Trevorrow and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy enters the realms of rumours.

Although creative differences and the poor response to the director’s The Book of Henry may have had something to do with it.

Now Trevorrow has spoken out on his time working on Episode IX and appears keen to remain positive about the experience.

Speaking with Empire while promoting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, he said: “I don’t want to talk too much about it because I don’t want to affect the way that fans get to see these films.

“When we were kids, these movies came to us from far away. They were a gift.

“And the more we talk about how they’re made, the more it reveals that they’re just movies. But they’re not just movies, they’re more than that.

“Beyond that, I got the opportunity to tell a story that is a celebration of everything I believe in, I got to tell it to George Lucas and I got to tell it to Luke Skywalker, and those are experiences I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

The director continued: “Having a script in advance is something I haven’t always been lucky enough to have.

“I’m writing with Chris Terrio who is a genius and I’m having a great time.”

Terrio is the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Argo, although he did also pen the critically-panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

Abrams also confirmed shooting would start on Star Wars 9 from the end of July.

Star Wars: Episode IX is released in UK cinemas on December 20, 2019.
