Star Wars 9 leaks: 'Kylo Ren and Rey lightsaber battle' with THIS big twist in Episode IX

In just six days fans should get their first official look at Episode IX. The Star Wars 9 panel at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago next Friday is expected to unveil the first teaser trailer or footage. After The Last Jedi denied fans the sight of a single (real) lightsaber battle, will the final film in the main franchise deliver what everyone wants? A new leak describes a thrilling scene with Rey, Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren.

STAR WARS fans know well enough by now to take everything with a giant dose of salt but it is always fun to speculate, and a confrontation between Rey and Kylo is absolutely inevitable either way. 

The leak said: “Rey wielding her ignited blue lightsaber with six Knights of Ren and Kylo Ren in front of them. A stand-off between Kylo Ren and his knights, and Rey, Finn, Poe and others. The sequence is inspired by many scenes used in Western films.

“The next (scene description) goes over Kylo ordering his Knights charging towards Rey and her crew. This is where a small lightsaber duel takes place between Kyl Ren and Rey, with the knights killing resistance soldiers in the background.”

So far, it has to be said it sounds a lot like the opening of that famous Forceback vision from The Force Awakens.

It continues: “The next describes Kylo fighting Rey with his helmet on. He is said to use the Force to throw Rey into a ditch in the ground. Kylo walks closer, attempting to strike until a large explosion takes place, throwing him all the way across the field.

“A passing Y-Wing makes a bombing run between the Knights, the resistance fighters, Rey and Kylo Ren. A Knight of Ren carries another injured knight onto Kylo’s shuttle, taking cover while the other four are slaughtering Maz Kanata’s pirates.

“Kylo Ren wakes up and sees Rey running towards the First Order headquarters. It is said she is after something that is significant to the story.”

There is a lot to digest here, but the most exciting and frustrating detail is that Kylo and Rey’s final showdown will be, once again, delayed.

There have been numerous reports and leaks about a huge pirate space ship being constructed at Pinewood and consistent rumours that Leia will send out her remaining allies to seek certain key places and items which will bring down the First Order.

The latest leaks line up with all of that, or they could be simply expanding from the existing rumours. Only time will tell.
