Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker is FULL of huge TWISTS, actor reveals

Episode 9 of the saga, officially titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, will end not only the sequel trilogy but the whole nine-part Skywalker story.

Exact plot points are, of course, being kept under lock and key until the release at the end of the year, but Suotamo has teased some big surprises on social media.

Responding to an IMDb tweet asking followers to name their favourite “I did not see that coming” moments from films, he dropped quite the tantalising teaser.

“All of my next movie, but shhhh,” he wrote; adding: “#keepthemontheirtoes.”

Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, has also recently been teasing the movie – which is thought to have been in reshoots over recent weeks.

“The ending to Rise of Skywalker… it’s very satisfying. It felt like an end,” she told Vulture.

“I don’t know what’ll happen in however many years. There are so many characters in the Star Wars world who’ve never been explored.”

And on whether or not she herself could reprise Rey once again, she added: “There’s so much for the filmmakers to work on. So right now, I don’t think so.

“But who could say, really? An opportunity might present itself.”

She added: “I love how the movie hasn’t come out and people are like, ‘What about going forward?’ [Laughs.]

“Right now, it feels like a really nice full stop on the Skywalker series.”

Keri Russell, meanwhile, has said she was in tears when she read JJ Abrams’ script.
