Star Wars actor says he WILL be back in shock revelation 'Just give me a gun'
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has already been released for two years and the buzz is currently building on the next prequel in the franchise with the highly-anticipated back story of fan-favourite Han Solo (played by Alden Ehrenreich).
But fans may need to buckle up for one character to make a sudden return to the universe.
Alistair Petrie, who played General Davits Draven in the hit moneymaker, has revealed all about his hopes to reprise his role in the saga.
The 47-year-old actor is well-known for his impressive television roles in mystery thriller The Night Manager and period drama The Terror.
But he wasn’t afraid to admit that working on the monster Star Wars franchise was a childhood dream come true.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Alistair shared: “The beginning when the music starts, the ‘In a galaxy far far away’ you wanted to weep, it’s astonishing, an unbelievable privilege.
“And the great thing about the Star Wars franchise is that yes there’s this huge commercial value to Disney – let’s not be naive about it – but the team that work on these things really care about the stories they’re telling, they really do,” he added.
If the opportunity arose, the actor insisted he would sign up to the project in a heartbeat.
“There’s going to be tons more Star Wars films,” he explained. “So if they do phone up and go, ‘Fancy popping back?’
“I’ll jump on the next plane and be straight there.”
Viewers will remember the end of Rogue One saw many major characters killed off, but General Draven was left very much alive.
The actor went on to reveal the film’s producers had already told him where his character would be now, giving him the perfect springboard to pop up in a future instalment.
Alistair clarified: “I’d love it, actually someone did say, ‘I wonder what your character’s doing now,’ bearing in mind everyone in Rogue One basically died, but I didn’t.
“And then the brilliant Star Wars people who do all these things, I did ask them: ‘Where am I by the way?’
[They said] ‘Oh we think you’re out in the field.’ I thought that’s cool, I like to be out in the field.
“Blowing stuff up rather than just ordering stuff to be blown up,” he continued. “So yeah just weaponise me, I’m ready to go.”
Alistair was last seen in new FOX spy drama Deep State, alongside his long-time co-star Mark Strong.
Playing the corrupt MI6 boss George White, his end was a deeply tragic one, but actor Alistair is ready to start “blowing stuff” now.
“Oh god yes give me a gun, I love it,” he declared. “The weird thing is I’m so up for that kind of stuff, but I rarely get given a gun. I order people to blow stuff up or kill people or have fights, you know go and fight them and I’ll stand and watch or look at a screen.
“I think it’s time someone gives me a weapon and I get to use it, the world is ready to see me give my physical wrath I definitely think so. I can feel it in my bones.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray and Solo: A Stars Wars Story is released on May 25.
