Star Wars FIXES major Leia problem after fan backlash with beautiful new scene: LOOK
“Let the past die, kill it if you have to.” This Kylo Ren line from The Last Jedi has hung over the Sequel Trilogy fuelling the fears and anger of many fans who feel the new films have no love or respect for the previous two trilogies. The issue was highlighted in another small scene from Episode 8 where Luke said a last goodbye to C-3PO on Crait. It wasn’t in the script until actor Mark Hamill protested. Now another contentious moment involving Leia and Rey has been corrected.
After Han Solo’s shock death in The Force Awakens, the survivors from Starkiller Base returned to the rebel headquarters, where Leia comforted Rey – not Chewbacca. Fans were furious.
Now the most recent Marvel Comics entry in the Age of Resistance: Rey series by Tom Taylor has completely rewritten that scene.
He posted the images on Twitter and wrote: “Leia and Chewie didn’t hug on screen after Han’s death. In StarWars Age of Resistance: Rey 1, we fixed that. Today, we’ve brought balance. The hug is canon now.”
The panel shows Leia wrapped in Chewie’s arms as they console each other after losing the man they both loved so dearly.

Finally, she tells him: “Come on. I can’t cry on your shoulder anymore. I’m getting your fur all wet, and no-one wants the smell of wet Wookiee hair in here.”
Fans will also be pleased with the respect and love shown to the Millennium Falcon.
Leia tells Chewie: “Go prep the Falcon. Go on, she needs you.”
The movie Solo; A Star Wars Story established that the Falcon isn’t just a beloved ride, she actually has the program for Lando’s brave droid L3-37 downloaded into her control systems.

Rey then approaches Leia, who tells her: “Sorry if you were waiting a while. A hug with a Wookiee lasts as long as the Wookiee wants it to last.”
It is the perfect moment which redresses the balance, establishing the importance of the long-established relationships built up over 40 years of canon movies and books.
JJ Abrams has his work cut out for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only does he have to wrap up a trilogy which had divided critics and fans he also has to bring the entire nine-movie saga to a fitting close.
More scenes honouring the legacy characters and storylines will certainly go down well with hardcore fans.
