Star Wars: Luke Skywalker’s 'real MOTHER' shock – Mark Hamill confirms secret

The veteran Star Wars actor has confirmed that he once pitched a very different reveal to George Lucas, that would have been quite the match for that sensational Darth Vader “I am your father” moment. So other than Padme, who could have given birth to Luke?

Hamill has confirmed that he pitched the idea that Boba Fett could be Luke’s other parent.

He responded to a tweet posted by the account for a Star Wars fan podcast, confirming the rumour.

Tatooine Sons: A Star Wars Podcast had posted: “While we recorded this coming [week’s] episode, one of the boys said that between V & VI there was a theory that Boba Fett was actually Luke’s mother.

“Crazier though, is that one of the hosts claims that @HamillHimself was all in on this! This can’t be true?!?!!”

Hamill replied: “I once suggested it to George as the only way we could top Vader being my father.

“I envisioned her as a double-agent working clandestinely for the Rebels.

“SPOILER ALERT: He didn’t like my idea.”

Of course in the prequel trilogy, it was confirmed that Padme gave birth to both Luke and Leia, shortly before she died and Anakin, their father, became Darth Vader.

Hamill will be returning to Star Wars for the final movie in the Skywalker saga, Episode 9.

That movie will see Luke feature in some currently unknown capacity, despite appearing to die in the last film – 2017’s The Last Jedi.

Episode 9, which does not currently have an official title, is now in production ahead of its release next year. A trailer is not expected until at least the rough time of Star Wars Celebration: Chicago in April.

Star Wars: Episode 9 is out in December 2019.
