Star Wars legend Warwick Davis, who has appeared in six of the franchise’s movies to date, kept tight-lipped when it came to The Rise of Skywalker spoilers during an interview with Express.co.uk. However, he did seem positive about the possibility of making an appearance in the upcoming conclusion to the Skywalker saga, calling the idea “terrific”.

Asked if fans might get to see him in his fifth Star Wars film, Davis said coyly: “It would be terrific, wouldn’t it, to see me in there.

“I’m excited to see the film,” he added, changing the subject. “We haven’t got long to wait now.

“It feels like years, it has been years, but we finally get to find out how it all ends.”

While he was careful not to give a straight answer as to whether or not he features in The Rise of Skywalker, the actor did share an insight into the epic finale.

“This is the conclusion of the Skywalker saga — this epic nine-film saga — and this is the punctuation mark at the end of this; the full stop; the final part,” he said. “I’m excited.

“J.J. Abrams, no pressure!” Davis laughed. “This is quite the finale.

“I’m excited, as I’m sure millions of fans around the world are.”

The Rise of Skywalker’s release date is just around the corner, with details being kept tightly under wraps.

Meanwhile, Davis, who first appeared in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi back in 1983, playing Wicket the Ewok, also revealed he why he preferred being in the original, sequel and spin-off movies to the prequels.

Looking back over the different Star Wars eras, he reflected on the biggest changes to filming, saying: “Obviously technology has come on so much in the decades. George Lucas would always push the boundaries of what was possible in movies.

“In terms of Return of the Jedi, that was very far ahead of what anyone else was doing at that stage,” he continued.

“But of course, since then, CG has become the way to make movies now and do visual effects.”

“There was time around about Episode One and doing the prequel films where a lot less of the set was actually constructed. Most of it would be put in in post-production,” Davis said..

“So, as actors, we were working in environments which were literally just blue our green screens — we wouldn’t really see much of anything.

“But then, coming in to doing the later films, from The Force Awakens into Rogue One and Solo and The Last Jedi, they feel much more like the way that we shot Return of the Jedi in the sense that the sets fully exist again and more of the actual things are realised in reality once again,” he added.

“It’s just how movies are made and how trends go in moviemaking.”

“I think I prefer to have everything around me,” the Star Wars star revealed. “Also, as a performer, it helps you because you’re immersed in the situation and it makes the whole performance a lot easier.”

Elsewhere, Davis recently teamed up with Argos to launch the new game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, saying: I’ve become an employee for the day,” he explained. “I’ve been selling games to Star Wars fans, particularly Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

“It’s pretty fun and it’s great for me to be able to interact with the fans and talk about the game and talk about something that we all enjoy: Star Wars. Because, at heart I’m a Star Wars fan.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in UK cinemas December 19.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available to buy now from agos.co.uk and all stores.
