When you think of Christmas movies there are a number of absolute classics from Home Alone and Die Hard to Elf and It’s A Wonderful Life. And while it received pretty mix reviews on release almost 20 years ago, Jim Carrey’s The Grinch has become a seasonal favourite.

However, UK users have taken to Twitter to express their outrage that The Grinch has been “removed” from Netflix in time for December.

One film fan tweeted: “Imagine channeling your inner Scrooge and ruining Christmas by taking #thegrinch off your platform…. Thanks @NetflixUK kids crying.”

While another wrote: “@NetflixUK how come you guys have taken The Grinch off Netflix on the 1st December?

“It was on there yesterday. I don’t think the Grinch stole Christmas, you guys have.”

Speaking with Vulture, Tsuji said: “Once we were on set, he was really mean to everybody and at the beginning of the production they couldn’t finish.

“After two weeks we only could finish three days’ worth of shooting schedule, because suddenly he would just disappear and when he came back, everything was ripped apart. We couldn’t shoot anything.”

But one incident was too much for Tsuji, who ended up leaving the set for a while, so Carrey would “see how valuable he was.”

Tsuji continued: “In the makeup trailer he just suddenly stands up and looks in the mirror, and pointing on his chin, he goes, ‘This colour is different from what you did yesterday.’ I was using the same colour I used yesterday. He says, ‘Fix it.’ And okay, you know, I ‘fixed’ it. Every day was like that.”
