‘Toxic’ Jeremy Corbyn savaged by former Labour adviser for ‘through the floor’ ratings
Jeremy Corbyn’s humiliating loss to Boris Johnson’s Tory Party has left experts questioning what are the reasons for the Labour Party’s lacklustre election results. Former Labour adviser and comedian Ayesha Hazarika insisted that although his unclear Brexit stance played a significant role in the election loss, it was not the only reason. While speaking on Sky News Ms Hazarika argued it was Mr Corbyn’s “toxic” nature and an overpraising and unconvincing Labour manifesto.
She said: “Jeremy Corbyn could not answer the question if there is going to be a second referendum how are you going to campaign and vote.
“Crucially he could not answer that question.
“I think the problem was that he left it too late.
“Jeremy Corbyn is a man that has shown himself to be capable of leadership on quite contentious issues, take the issue of economic austerity.

Former Labour advisor Ayesha Hazarika argued that Brexit was not the only reason the Labour party struggled in the election
“When he became the leader of the Labour Party the dominant narrative was that we did need austerity.
“He changed that by showing leadership but he did not show leadership on the B exit issue.
“A lot of people think this is because he was divided himself as he was well known as a historic Brexiteer who would often vote in the lobbies with the arch European Research Group (ERG) members.
“It wasn’t just Brexit, but there were two other issues.
Jeremy Corbyn has faced strong criticism for his inability to deal with anti-semitism in the Labour Party
“The Labour manifesto was popular to many because there was so much in it, it was a bonanza give away, it was a wishlist and the Black Friday of political policies and people just didn’t believe it.
“It became incredible in the literal sense.
“Anybody that knows Labour history is aware Labour governments as opposition who are trying to get into government has to show that they are economically credible.
“The final thing was that Jeremy Corbyn was toxic on the doorstep.

“His personal rating was absolutely through the floor.
“From issues on national security, whether he was a patriot, his links with terrorism and antisemitism.”
