Venom mid-credit scene explained: What does the mid-credit scene mean for Venom 2?
Venom is proving itself to have mixed reviews despite the hype surrounding the Sony venture.
While some fans have enjoyed the experience, critics are taking a sterner view of the Tom Hardy film.
But this hasn’t stopped the momentum from gathering about a potential Venom 2.
With one more day until the USA release, fans are taking to the internet, either careful to avoid spoilers or trying to decipher them.

What does the mid-credit scene mean for Venom 2?
The mid-credit scene showed Woody Harrelson in a solitary confinement cell at San Quentin prison.
Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock arrives to conduct an exclusive prison interview with Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady.
Kasady is a notorious serial killer, unhinged and dangerous.
At the end of the mid-credit scene, Harrelson says: “When I get out of here, and I will, there’s gonna be carnage.”
The carnage Harrelson is referencing is a Venom-verse Marvel villain, a symbiote who bonds with Kasady to become Carnage.
Harrelson himself confirmed the likely possibility of a Venom sequel, saying he signed onto the first movie knowing he’d only appear in a sliver of it.
He told Collider: “I’m in a little fraction of this movie, but I’ll be in the next one, you know?”

Hardy also confirmed he was signed on for three Venom movies, but there were no concrete plans from Sony to develop them – yet.
“I’m open to whatever you want to do with it,” Hardy told Total Film.
“It’s very much an open case. We’ll see what people’s responses are to it.”
So far those responses have been lacklustre from critics, but fans may be so excited by the movie it becomes a commercial success, if not a critical one.
“I think it’s an awesome character,” Hardy said, “I love playing both of them.

It’s an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it’s the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were,” he added.
Teasing Carnage in the mid-credit scene was a surefire way to increase fan excitement for a sequel.
The Venom movie still has its USA premiere to tackle, going head to head with A Star Is Born.
The ratings will continue to fluctuate as Venom rolls out across the rest of Europe.
Venom is out in UK cinemas now. Venom will be out in US cinemas on October 5, 2018.
