Zombieland is returning to our screens after ten years away. Since then, a great deal has changed in the lives of the actors, including an Oscar win for Emma Stone. Here is everything you need to know about the Zombieland sequel ahead of its release.

When is the Zombieland 2 release date?

Zombieland: Double Tap will be released in UK cinemas on October 18.

The movie has already seen its release across some countries, and was first seen in the USA at the Chicago International Film Festival on October 16.

However, Zombieland will be screened in the UK from October 18, as well as the USA, before it continues to be released across the world until the end of November.

What is the plot of Zombieland Double Tap?

The film’s official synopsis reads: “A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland 2: Double Tap.”

“In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.

“But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

Who is in the cast of Zombieland 2?

Returning to Zombieland are Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee, Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus, Emma Stone as Wichita/Krista and Abigail Breslin as Little Rock, Wichita’s sister.

Joining the group of killers are Rosario Dawson as Reno, Tallahassee’s new love interest, Luke Wilson as Albuquerque, and Thomas Middleditch as Flagstaff, Albuquerque’s partner.

These two characters mirror Tallahassee and Columbus, while two other characters do not mirror the other two at all.

The other two characters joining are Zoey Deutch as Madison and Avan Jogia as Barkeley.

Also, Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd are expected to appear as fictionalised versions of themselves, as Murray did in the first film, along with YouTuber Grace Randolph.

Is there a trailer for Zombieland Double Tap?

There are multiple trailers for the new movie, which hits cinemas very soon.

The first trailer introduces new characters and potential love interests in Zoey Deutch’s Madison, Avan Jogia’s Berkeley and Rosario Dawson’s Reno.

Tallahassee is still having as much fun as possible as he channels Elvis during one scene at The Hound Dog Hotel.
