Avengers 4: Hulk is NOT the problem, Bruce Banner is – This changes EVERYTHING

Why is everyone blaming the not-so-jolly green giant?

Throughout Infinity War, Hulk refused to come out and smash anything at all. Tis caused Bruce, Tony and all teh Avengerds initial embarrassment but then became a major problem by the final battle.

Even the film makers have explained that Hulk is tired of just being pulled out when Bruce needs him to solve a situation.

But did you notice that Bruce actaully stopped being any use himself? This is the bigger problem.

Throughout Marvel history Bruce Banner, Doctor Bruce Banner to be precise, has always been a total genius.

His remarkable intellect was just as important as Hulk’s brute strength. 

In all the preceeding movies, Banner was an intergral part of solving problems and helping Tony and the other Avengrs with his impressive technical and scientific skills.

In Infinity War he is pretty useless and barely contributes anything. Tihs is a major part of why Hulk was kept off screen for most of the movie.

Redditor Lumba says: “The team needed the intellect of Bruce Banner more than the Hulk. Hulk withdrawing was a means of forcing Bruce Banner to step up to the plate, saying “you figure this out, buddy!” Which he finally ends up doing at the end of the movie as he masters control of the Hulkbuster armor.

“Bruce, until that point, is desperate to return to the Hulk, failing to explore his other strengths beside the brute strength. At a time when the team could probably use a good plan, other brainy members of the MCU pull through, but the team seems to neglect Bruce Banner the man, continually prodding him to transform. “Anytime now!”

“Bruce needs to embrace his whole self rather than hiding behind his fractured ego.”

But where does this leave Bruce?

Shuri has been positioned as the real brains of the Marvel universe moving forward.

Kevin Feige and Mark Ruffalo have repeatedly said that they saw Thor Ragnarok and Avengers 3 and 4 as a Hulk trilogy. Ragnarok was all about Hulk, Infinity War forced Bruce centre stage. Will Avengers 4 resolve the situation or, worryingly, provide the final climax and end for his story arc?
