Brigitte Macron was spotted today in France to meet a fellow European dignitary.

The former-school teacher, formerly known as Brigitte Trogneux, has met many major players on the world stage.

This includes Melania and Donald Trump and Crown Princess Mary.

Today she met Norway’s Queen Sonja before a ceremony at the Pierre Corneille high school in Rouen, northwestern France.

Brigitte smiled as she waved at the crowds. She wore her blonde hair in a chignon, with her fringe falling into her eyes.

She wore dark make-up around her eyes and nude lipstick on her lips.

The French First Lady opted for a red dress which stopped just short of the knee.

A classic cut, the long sleeve dress had darts on the chest and was nipped in at the waist with gold buttons.

She showed off her black patent high-heeled shoes.

Brigitte was meeting Queen Sonja of Norway, 81, wife of King Harald V.

From Oslo, the senior Norwegian royal is a fashion fan, having complete a diploma is dressmaking and tailoring.

She wore wide legged black trousers, a white shirt and a navy blue cape.

The women shook hands as she arrived at the high school.

Brigitte Maacron wore a £1,550 jacket with Emmanuel in Paris.

The jacket appeared to be the Balmain velvet blazer worth £1,550.

Brigitte Macron is known for her chic, workwear inspired style.

She often wears Louis Vuitton but is partial to a Balmain blazer too.

Her penchant for short hems to show of her shapely legs also influences many of her style choices.

Brigitte Macron recently wowed in a pink coat in Paris.

Brigitte Macron: Five facts about the French President’s wife

Family

Brigitte Trogneux, as she was born, is the youngest of six children and grew up in Amiens, France.

Her parents were owners of Chocolaterie Trogneux, which had been run by five generations of the family and is now run by Brigitte’s nephew.

Previous marriage

Before her marriage to the current French President, Brigitte was married to a banker, André-Louis Auzière.

The couple wed in June 1974 and had three children before finally divorcing in January 2006. She married Emmanuel in 2007.

Career

Brigitte is famed for being her husband’s secondary school teacher, but she has had a varied working life.

In 1982 she was a press secretary at the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Chamber of Commerce, moving in to teaching two years later.

First Lady attempt

In 2017, Emmanuel made an attempt to give his wife an official paid role in French administration, as First Lady.

This was dashed, however, after an online petition against the move gained 300,000 signatures. Her role has stayed unofficial, although as with previous President’s wives, she does have a small team of staff.

Louis Vuitton

The French luxury fashion house began a relationship with Brigitte in 2015, loaning her outfits for public appearances.

Speaking to business news magazine Challenges, her team confirmed: “Everything has been noted in a register and the loan outs have been systematically returned. And she only wears their outfits for public appearances.”
