Fantastic Beasts 2: Nagini revealed – actress teases all you need to know on Horcrux snake

Nagini is seen as Voldemort’s snake in the Harry Potter books and movies; eventually revealed to be his Horcrux.

But in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald we’ll learn that she started as the Maledictus: the main attraction of a wizarding circus called Circus Arcanus, carrying a blood curse that makes her transform from a human into a snake.

Kim told Entertainment Weekly: “It will be so interesting to see another side of Nagini.

“You’ve only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she’s a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live.

“She wants to stay a human being and I think that’s a wonderful contrast to the character.”

Kim has been keeping the secret of her role for over a year, although fan theories have bene swirling for some time now.

We meet Nagini as someone who can transform from human to snake at will – but she knows that, due to the nature of the curse, she will eventually become a snake permanently.

Nagini is ultimately killed by Neville Longbottom towards the end of the Harry Potter series.

“She does feel sometimes it’s not controllable,” Kim added.

“She is bound to [permanently] transform at some point to a beast so she feels this pressure that the clock is ticking.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald sees the return of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein.

Jude Law is on board as the younger Albus Dumbledore, while Johnny Depp plays Grindelwald.

Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler reprise the roles of Credence Barebone, Queenie Goldstein and Jacob Kowalski respectively.

Zoe Kravitz is also on board: she plays Leta Lestrange.

This is the tenth film overall in the Wizarding World franchise, and the second of five planned Fantastic Beasts stories.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is out on November 16.
