Burt Reynolds REPLACEMENT found for Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Earlier this month the Smokey and the Bandit legend died aged 82.

Sadly Burt passed before he was able to shoot his scenes in Tarantino’s new movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

However a replacement has been found in his friend, fellow 1970s film icon and Tarantino regular Bruce Dern, according to Deadline.

The 82-year-old played Confederate general Sanford Smithers in the director’s last film, The Hateful Eight. Bruce joins an incredible cast which includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is set in 1969 during the summer of the Manson murders.

DiCaprio plays a TV actor with Pitt as his stunt double who are struggling to get work in the modern age of Hollywood.

And now he will be taking on Burt’s role as Spahn, the near blind man who rented his Los Angeles ranch out to be used for Westerns.

Meanwhile in real life Charles Manson convinced the old man to let his cult live there in the months up to when he ordered the murder of Sharon Tate and six other people.

Manson and his followers didn’t have to pay rent however as he had his female cult members sleep with Spahn.

The small role will take Bruce two days to film after he’s finished shooting a film in Spain called Remember Me.

Burt sadly passed away from a heart attack surrounded by his family on September 6.

His niece told the BBC: “My uncle was not just a movie icon, he was a generous, passionate and sensitive man who was dedicated to his family, friends, fans and acting students.”

She added: “He has had health issues, however, this was totally unexpected.”

“I want to thank all of his amazing fans who have always supported and cheered him on, through all of the hills and valleys of his life and career.”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is released in UK cinemas on July 26, 2019.
