Royal news: Queen Maxima steps out in ENORMOUS hat that puts Beatrice to shame

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended a conference in Enschede yesterday.

The Stylish royal arrived at the Grolsch Veste for the opening of the National Loneliness Conference.

The 47-year-old Monarch looked beautiful in a knee-length blush dress embellished with embroidered lilac flowers.

A matching purple belt cinched the dress in at her waist and coordinating earrings complimented the look.

The Dutch Queen finished off her outfit with a large statement straw hat.

The fine piece of millinery protected the royal from the September sunshine and certainly made for an eye-catching look that Prince Beatrice would be proud of.

The wife of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands is no stranger to wearing a statement hat and has been seen in this very one a number of times.

In October last year, the modern Monarch wore what appears to be the same hat in Portugal to meet President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

And again in 2013 when she visited the Gelderland and Utrecht Provinces.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands was greeted by excited royal fans who had been patiently waiting to meet her.

She was presented with flowers and gifts as she made her way into the conference.
