Star Wars 9 leak: Darth Plagueis link to REY, Luke, Anakin and the CHOSEN ONE revealed?

Who is Rey?

In all the furore over Kylo Ren’s shock declaration in The Last Jedi that she is “no-one”, everybody concentrated on her parentage and links (or not) to iconic legacy characters.

But what about the entire CHosen One storyline, which underpinned the entire Original and Prequel Trilogies? Many had believed Rey was now the prime candidate.

Following reports that Star Wars 9 will be going back to film in Ireland, a new leaked scene describes a huge fan-pleasing link to the past that involves Rey, Luke and one of teh most famous villains in the entire franchise. 

Obviously all leaks should be takne with a large pinch of salt and often simply rework exisying knowledge into a credible possibility, but they certainly provide tantalising ideas about where the movie might go.

The leak says: “One of the descriptions goes over Rey inside a stone hut, very similar to the one on Ahch-To. She wears black attire and is kneeling, going through what appears to be the belongings of Luke Skywalker. One of which is a thick brown journal described as ‘The Science of Creating Life.’

“Another image has Rey’s hand resting on a page which reads ‘The Philosophy of Life.’ Another page reads ‘Transcending Death.’ Rey shuts the journal and takes it with her.”

This an indisputable link back to iconic villain Darth Plagueis, the origins of Anakin Skywalker and whether Dark Side users can cross back over after death, like Light Side force ghosts. 

Currently the book is only in Star Wars Legends and is not Canon but Wookieepedia explans: “The Science of Creating Life was a scientific journal written by the Muun Sith Lord Darth Plagueis, documenting his experimentation and research concerning the Force as well as his musing on its true nature. The information contained in the journal revolutionized Sith understanding of the relationship between the Force and biological science.”

In the Legends storyline Darth Sidious took the book after killing his master and the Luke stole it for himself.

It is generally accepted that Plagueis orchestrated the Force birth of Anakin, manipulating the midichlorians to impregnate Shmi, but teh book also cover other hugely significant subjects.

The full list of sections in the book is illuminating and gives a major hint to wahat might be coming: “Influencing the Midi-chlorians, Perpetual Life, Concentrating the Force, The Philosophy of Life, New Explorations in the Force, Transcending Death, The Netherworld and Chaos, Sith Spirits, The Prophecy of the Chosen One, The Culmination of the Sith’ari.”

This opens up so many huge potential storylines. Sith Spirits could deal with Dark Force users appearing after death,so we might see a ghost of Plagueis or Sidious. With no-one left alive to teach her, will Rey attempt to contact those who came before?

The Chosen One storyline has not been addressed directly in the final trilogy so far but is the linking theme of the previous six films. Was it Anakin or Luke or will it turn out to be Rey – or even Kylo Ren?

With only one film left in the saga, Abrams has a lot of plot and history to pack in to bring it all home.
