The Marvel character made his debut in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and didn’t even survive until the end credits.

After so much hype surrounded his arrival, which came in tandem with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, it has long been speculated that he could come back in some capacity one day.

With Avengers 4 fan theories covering just about every possibility under the sun, Quicksilver’s name has often been touted.

However, Taylor-Johnson has played down the idea that he’s coming back – at least at this moment in time.

When asked about it by Metro, he said simply: “It’s not a conversation right now.”

The use of “right now” could be a hint that the door isn’t closed on Quicksilver forever, but it does at least seem like we can count him out of the upcoming blockbuster.

Reshoots for Avengers 4 have recently wrapped in Atlanta, USA; where Mark Ruffalo revealed that the film’s ending was still being decided.

Speaking on The Marvelists podcast last month, he said: “We don’t even know what it’s gonna be yet. We’re not just doing reshoots.

“We’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.

“I don’t even know that [the Russos] really know exactly. Some of it is happening while we’re there.

“It’s pretty amazing. And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it ’cause we wanna take it in another direction.”

He added: “It’s a very living organism; even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it.”

However Avengers 4 ends, it is thought to be “definitive” – after Kevin Feige promised it would mark the end of the current era of MCU storytelling.

It will be followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home, which also recently wrapped its initial filming.

Another Marvel movie, identity unknown, which had been set for release in July 2020 appears to have been removed from release schedules.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26, 2019 in the UK.
