Meghan Markle suffers AWKWARD wardrobe malfunction as she battles strong winds in Tonga

Meghan Markle, 37, wore a pretty red pleated dress from Self Portrait, £400, as she arrived in Tonga.

The Duchess of Sussex paired the dress with a navy clutch from Dior, £484, and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in navy suede, £639.

But while her outfit was striking, it was something else that caught attention around the world – an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

Pregnant Meghan battled winds as she exited the plane with her husband, causing her long brown hair to whip around her face.

And as the hem of her dress swayed in the wind, the white care label was clearly visible.

Usually, the Royal Family is impeccably dressed, with no creases or labels on show.

So the sight of Meghan’s dress label is an unusual one – with eagle-eyed royal fans spotting it instantly.

The mishap was even the topic of discussion Good Morning Britain today, with Charlotte Hawkins defending the Duchess to her co-hosts Ben Shephard and Richard Gaisford.

She said: “It’s easily done, you put it on and you forget and they put labels in all sorts of different places.

“Sometimes in the back, sometimes in the bottom, sometimes it’s the sleeve.”

Meghan went on to make a further two outfit changes for her day in Tonga, slipping into a green dress and a dazzling white outfit too.

And the entire tour has been somewhat of a fashion parade for the stylish royal, who has worn several stunning outfits per day.

Yesterday, she glowed in a red and blue printed maxi dress by Figue. The ‘Frederica’ costs £1250.

She paired this with Castañer Carina espadrilles, £80, and a Tapa cloth bag from Suva, which was locally made.

As usual, the Duchess of Sussex was laden with jewellery, today choosing Karen Walker Temptation stud earrings $369 (£285) and Catbird Threadbare rings $44 (£34).

The Serpent bracelet from Shaun Lane, $7300 (£5628), completed the look.

Meghan and Harry have so far visited Australia and Fiji. They will head back to Australia after their time in Tonga, before completing their trip in New Zealand.

The newlyweds will then head home at the end of the month.
