Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles arrived in Kumasi on day five of their trip to west Africa yesterday.

The 71-year-old Duchess stepped off the plane in a pretty green dress covered in pansy flowers and a pair of low-heeled cream shoes.

Wearing her hair in its signature style, she teamed the floral dress with a classic pearl necklace and matching pearl earrings.

Her short sleeved frock revealed two gold bracelets on her wrist – one with several coloured precious stones which added colour to her outfit along with a jewelled poppy for Remembrance Day.

Mother-of-two Camilla, carried a parasol to protect herself from the African sunshine as she made her way to a welcoming ceremony with her husband, 69.

The royal couple were greeted at Manhiya Palace by King Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, the Asantahene as well as local Chiefs and religious leaders.

After taking tea with the King of Ghana’s Asante people, the Prince of Wale visited the New Kumasi Market in Ghana while his wife visited the National Cultural Centre.

Later, the Duchess of Cornwall attended a literacy event at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
