Premier League rivals Manchester City and French giants Paris Saint-german have been accused of violating regulations by overvaluing sponsorship deals.

Both have denied any wrongdoing.

Allegations were made in articles published by German magazine Der Spiegel based on documents that were released by Football Leaks.

And Klopp insists FFP is there for a reason and must says it must be enforced to the full extent of the law if clubs are in the wrong.

“It is really difficult to comment but what I can say in general is that FFP is a really good thing,” he said.

“But we always thought that, if it is in place, they have to do something with it.

“I have no clue what happens. I know it is about Paris and Man City.

“I’m not sure if other clubs are being talked about. I think FFP is a really good thing because it sets the rules.

“If everything is fine, then everything is fine. If not, then somebody should do something. That’s all I can say but I have no clue about the real story.”

Klopp’s side cold be directly affected by City and PSG’s spending.

Liverpool are locked in a Premier League title race with City, while PSG are in their Champions League group.

Pep Guardiola’s City splashed out £60million to sign Riyad Mahrez in the summer, while PSG’s summer spending was close to £200m after they made Kylilan Mbappe’s more permanent.

But Klopp also spent big . He paid a combined £127m to sign Alisson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, and Sheridan Shaqiri.

And he insists his rivals are not gaining an unfair advantage.

“For me that is not important,” he added.

“We have better circumstances than other clubs. We have much better circumstances than Huddersfield, for example, but they don’t blame us and say we have to find a rule so we have the same situation. It’s not like that.”
