Avengers 4 Endgame trailer: Proof TIME TRAVEL will play a MAJOR role?
Yesterday the Avengers 4 trailer finally arrived, revealing the Infinity War sequel is called Endgame. Marvel fans have been pouring over the teaser shot by shot to try and decrypt the mysterious plot. Now from what was revealed and considering past set photos, there’s a good case to be made for time travel through the Quantum Realm. Firstly, let’s consider Ant-Man’s appearance at the end of the trailer.
Scott Lang was last seen trapped inside the Quantum Realm in the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp – so we know he somehow escaped.
Just before this occurred Janet van Dyne warned him to avoid time vortexes.
Clearly, the Avengers Endgame trailer implies a time jump, considering how worn the Avengers facility looks and the fact that Captain America thinks it’s an old video of Scott.
Also, notice how Ant-Man says his Civil War meeting with Steve Rogers was “a few years ago”.
Marvel insiders tease there’s a five-year jump, implying that Ant-Man time travelled five years into the future through a time vortex to escape the Quantum Realm.
Notice as well he’s arrived in the truck that has the Quantum Realm machine in the back seen in the Ant-Man and the Wasp mid-credits scene.
Clearly, Ant-Man and the Quantum Realm are key in Avengers Endgame, and with time vortexes it looks like the survivors will time travel and collect the Infinity Stones from previous MCU movies.
A scene before Ant-Man’s appearance in the trailer shows Captain America wearing his Winter Soldier costume, while aboard a ship. Could this be Hank Pym’s Quantum Realm vehicle?
In this scene, Black Widow says, “This is going to work Steve.” Cap replies, “I know it is, ‘cause I don’t know what I’m gonna do if it doesn’t.”
Considering his old costume, are the survivors about to embark on a journey to the past via the Quantum Realm, which includes a trip to the time of Captain America: The Winter Soldier?
Certainly, previous set photos seem to imply revisiting the past, with shots of Captain America in his even earlier suit from the first Avengers movie in the Battle of New York. There’s even a set video of Ant-Man with Gamora – who’s dead remember – in her costume from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Lastly, Avengers Endgame was once called Infinity Gauntlet, according to Hollywood insiders and Zoe Saldana’s interview slip up – so it sounds likely they’re going to be gathering the Infinity Stones for their own gauntlet and reverse Thanos’ Snap.
Avengers Endgame is released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
