Bumblebee is ushering in a new era of Transformers movies and fans are here for it. The film currently holds a 98 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating wholly positive reviews. As the sixth instalment in the franchise, some feared Bumblebee would be the final nail in the coffin for Transformers. Instead, the prequel has reinvigorated the series, and a new generation of fans have fallen in love with the vintage yellow Beetle and his Autobot companions.

When is Bumblebee out in cinemas?

Bumblebee is in UK cinemas on Christmas Eve, which this year lands on a Friday, (December 24, 2018).

The prequel is having a limited run this weekend in the UK, however, so if you run to the cinema you may get to see it ahead of time.

Fans in America have three days ahead of the UK, with a December 21 release date.

The last country to see Bumblebee in cinemas is Japan, with a March 22, 2019 release date.

What is the plot of Bumblebee?

The official plot synopsis reads: “On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town.

“Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee.

“When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.”

The tagline for Bumblebee is: “Every adventure has a beginning.”

Who is in the cast of Bumblebee?

The cast for Bumblebee is extensive, comprised of both live actors and voice actors.

The main human cast consists of Hailee Steinfeld as the lead, Charlie Watson.

John Cena stars as a leading agent of Sector 7, a secret government group, named Jack Burns.

Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Memo, Charlie’s coworker and friend.

John Ortiz plays Dr Powell, an agent of Sector 7, alongside Jason Drucker, as Otis Watson, Charlie’s younger brother, Pamela Adlon as Sally Watson, Charlie and Otis’ mother, Rory Markham as Jake Adams, an agent of Sector 7, Rachel Crow, Abby Quinn, Gracie Dzienny, Ricardo Hoyos, Kenneth Choi, Stephen Schneider, and Len Cariou as Hank, the owner of a junkyard Charlie frequents.

The voice actors of the Autobots features Dylan O’Brien as the voice of Bumblebee.

Peter Cullen reprised his role as the voice of Optimus Prime and Grey Griffin voices Arcee, a female Autobot.

Angela Bassett voices Shatter, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a red Plymouth Satellite and a Harrier Jump Jet.

Justin Theroux voices Dropkick, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin and a Bell AH-1 SuperCobra.

Other voice actors include David Sobolov, Jon Bailey, Kirk Baily, Steve Blum, Andrew Morgado, Kirk Baily, and Dennis Singletary.
