This year marks the , which was re-mixed for the special occasion.

Giles Martin, producer George’s son, re-mixed the album in stereo and has now confirmed he will do the same for 1968’s White Album, which celebrates it’s half-centenary next year.

Speaking on Radcliffe and Maconie’s BBC Radio 6 Music show, he was asked if there was any more of The Beatles back catalogue to remaster.

He said: “White Album, which will be the next release – that was when they started becoming properly indulgent.”

Giles added: “There are so many takes of Sexy Sadie, for instance. The efficiency went slightly out the window.”

The White Album, is The Beatles’ ninth studio album and includes hits like Back in the U.S.S.R. and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.

On previous re-mixes, Giles said: “My motivation – when I tell my kids or grandkids about this album that changed the face of pop music, you want them to put it on a go, ‘Yeah, I get it!’ rather than, ‘This sounds a bit old…’

“It’s getting that balance between trying to provide people what they want. There’s quite a lot of stuff.”

Meanwhile Paul McCartney has revealed his new look as Jack Sparrow’s uncle in Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge.

The 74-year-old singer follows The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards who played Jack’s father in the third and fourth outings.
