Classic Boris Johnson takedown of Jeremy Corbyn over Labour leader's Glastonbury speech
The foreign secretary criticised Mr Corbyn for casting a “spell” over voters who had previously opposed the party leader.
He also quipped festival goers had paid £285 to see “elderly people” including American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Johnson expressed fear over Mr Corbyn’s position on Trident.
He said: ”I can tell you, Mr Speaker, that when they saw those extraordinary scenes on the stage at Glastonbury, there were friends and admirers of this country around the world who were genuinely alarmed.
“That at a time of such uncertainty the leader of the main opposition party in this country should have exercised such an Orphic spell over those who had previously been his opponents.
“They have meekly acceded to his desire not just to run down our defences, but as he said on the stage of Glastonbury, that he would scrap our nuclear defence.”
Mr Johnson also prompted laughter in the House with his posh pronunciation of Glastonbury.
Jeremy Corbyn yet again urged the Prime Minister to call another general election as he spoke to thousands of music fans on Glastonbury’s main Pyramid Stage.
The Labour Party leader threw down the gauntlet just weeks after losing to the Conservatives in the June 8 general election, in which his party gained seats.
