President Donald Trump, 71, Melania, 47, and their son Barron, 11, assumed their position on the Truman Balcony at the White House to watch today’s much-anticipated solar eclipse.

At around 8pm UK time, North America was plunged into darkness.

The darkest path Americans were able to see the total eclipse was all the way from Salem, Oregon, to Charleston, South Carolina.

Luckily the Trumps were able to join in the eclipse mania, right on their doorstep in Washington DC.

From the White House, the Trump family were able to see the moon cover about 81 per cent of the sun.

Donald, Melania and Baron all made sure to wear protection, and appeared on the balcony wearing solar eclipse glasses.

Melania took on the theme of darkness by wearing a black slimline dress.

The top of the dress crossed over in its design, accentuating the First Lady’s waist.

The skirt of the dress was long in length and skimmed down Melania’s hips and legs.

The First Lady only accessorised with her pair of solar eclipse glasses.

Melania was last seen yesterday boarding Air Force One at Morristown Municipal Airport wearing a summery dress.

On Sunday, the stunning First Lady looked much younger than her 47 years as she walked the tarmac with her husband Donald Trump and son Barron.
