Huge FIRE rips through ‘$18million’ Bel-Air MANSION – 80 firefighters on scene
The flames erupted in the attic and were reported at 5.30pm UTC (1.30am GMT) on the 10800 block along Bellagio Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
In a statement, they said: “More than 80 firefighters currently on-scene working to extinguish an attic fire in a large two-story home; One injured firefighter transported to a local hospital with burn injuries.”
An updated comment was given to Express.co.uk by Captain Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
He said: “107 firefighters remain on the scene battling the stubborn blaze.
“The building suffered significant damage, firefighters stopped the flames from spreading to the adjacent poorhouse, garage and nearby brush.
“The residents were alerted by functional smoke alarms and self evacuated unharmed.
“A firefighter received one injury to the face and hands, he was transported to a trauma centre.
“The cause of the fire is under active investigation.”
It is also unknown what caused the horrific flames to break out.
Real estate website Zillow claims the mansion has five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a swimming pool.
The home was built in 1950 and was last sold for $6million in March 2011.
The huge mansion has a floor size of 9,750 square foot.
