Aalto has been confirmed as Finland’s competitor at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon this year, but the question is which song she takes.

Monsters is the first of the options, and has been released today to huge excitement from fans of both Aalto and Eurovision.

“It’s proven that with monsters Finland will slay!” wrote one commenter on YouTube.

“Erm I think I’ve just heard the winner of Eurovision 2018. I love it!!” said another.

Finland are currently joint-fourth favourites with bookies for the Eurovision trophy, with odds of 12/1 from Ladbrokes – a tie with Australia.

Joint favourites are Bulgaria, Sweden and Estonia – all on 8/1.

The United Kingdom’s selection show You Decide aired earlier this week, resulting in SuRie’s track Storm being chosen to represent us.

Currently the country’s odds of winning are 33/1 with Ladbrokes – a significant way down the table.

Aalto finished second on X Factor behind Matt Terry in 2016, after being mentored by Sharon Osbourne.

She was rumoured to have signed a big-money record deal with Sony Music UK, but in October she announced that she had ditched them for Warner.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2018 airs on May 12, 2018.
