Space Jam child star Penny Bae Bridges looks like THIS now: What happened to Jasmine?

Penny Bae Bridges played young Jasmine Jordan in the movie; the fictional daughter of NBA superstar Michael Jordan and his wife Juanita, played by Theresa Randle.

Bridges was just six years old at the time of the movie’s release, and is now 27.

Interestingly, she stepped away from the lime light – opting against pursuing a long-term acting career.

That said, she did ace a great deal of roles: her film work included Nothing To Lose alongside Martin Lawrence, True Crime with Clint Eastwood and the 2003 movie Baadasssss!.

It’s her small-screen work that she’s perhaps best-known for, though: in the mid-2000s she scored success as the young Mona in the US show Half & Half.

Elsewhere she also had TV jobs in For Your Love, Family Law and Boy Meets World.

But she soon stepped away from her showbiz career, and in 2009 she also became a mother to her son, Elijah.

Speaking to Huffington Post in 2016, she explained: “I kind of got to the point where I was missing a lot of school, and I couldn’t participate in sports.

“And I guess I just wanted to feel like I was a normal teenager, so I played volleyball. I was second team all-state.”

On whether anybody recognises her from Space Jam, she admitted: “Not as much anymore. Every now and then though, I do get people who are like, ‘You look really familiar,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, ‘Space Jam,’ because that’s what everybody remembers.”

Bridges has 2,400 followers on Instagram, where she describes herself as an “Actress, artist, singer”.

Space Jam also starred Billy West, Danny DeVito and Bill Murray; and actually received poor reviews at the time: it has only a 38% rating on aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

At the box office, it grossed around $250 million worldwide, and still stands as the top-grossing basketball movie of all time.

At the Grammys in 1997, it won Best Song Written Specifically for Motion Picture or for Television for R Kelly’s I Believe I Can Fly.
