Priyanka Chopra hurt: Quantico star reveals 'I lost a role because of THIS'

She is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and Bollywood.

Already a major star back home after her dazzling win at Miss World in 2000 lead to a modelling and movie career, she followed that by cracking the US with high-profile roles in Baywatch and the smash hit TV show Quantico.

Surely she can have  her pick of any roles?

The 35-year-old star just revealed the shocking reason why she was recently passed over in Hollywood and spilled on the staggering sexism she faces back in Bollywood.

With the third season of Quantico starting later this month in the US, her star should be in the ascendant.

She told Instyle that her appearance was why she lost a major movie.

Priyanka said: “I was out for a movie, and somebody (from the studio) called one of my agents and said, ‘She’s the wrong – what word did they use? – ‘physicality.'”

Priyanka added: “So in my defense as an actor, I’m like, ‘Do I need to be skinnier? Do I need to get in shape? Do I need to have abs?’ Like, what does ‘wrong physicality’ mean?

“And then my agent broke it down for me. Like, ‘I think, Priy, they meant that they wanted someone who’s not brown.’ It affected me.”

The actress also revealed that in Hollywood and Bollywood her gender and ethnicity also affect how much she gets paid.

Priyanka revealed: “No one will say that a woman is getting paid less because she’s a woman of colour, but the numbers mostly end up reflecting that.”

Recently offered a low amount for a role in Bollywood, she was told: “‘Well, you know how it is in these big tentpole movies with the big boys. This is the budget for the girl, and we can’t move beyond that,’ which was, like, a measly five per cent of what (the male lead) was getting.”
