Avengers Infinity War movie download: How to stream and own Marvel epic – when is it out?

The Marvel smash is leaving fans open-mouthed with its shock cliffhanger ending and devastating plot twists.

When it is brought out on digital download, DVD and Blu-ray, it is likely to become one of the best-selling home entertainment releases of 2018.

But when is its release date?

Currently there is no announced impact date for the digital or physical release of the movie, although it is estimated by dvdsreleasedates.com to be around August 2018 – which makes sense given the pattern set by its predecessors.

Currently the digital copy is available to pre-order on Amazon with bonus content for £13.99 in HD, and £9.99 in SD.

The Blu-ray and DVD are also available to buy in advance, for £17.99 and £10.00 respectively – although there are no release dates listed.

As for streaming, there is no word on if or when Now TV, Netflix or Amazon Prime will carry the movie – though it’s worth noting that Now TV in the UK is currently home to several recent MCU capers like Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Iron Man 3, so it could well Infinity War could join the mix when it debuts on TV with Sky. Again, though, this is not confirmed.

Looking for signs of digital release dates, it’s useful to look back on past Marvel hits: the monumentally successful Black Panther will be out on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on June 11. Given that it came out in cinemas two months before Infinity War, it’s fairly reasonable to assume the latter will be given a date two months later – again placing it in August.

However Black Panther will hit shelves in the USA earlier than that (May 15 on Blu-ray and DVD, May 8 on Digital HD from Amazon and iTunes) – so there’s the possibility that Infinity War could arrive earlier than August; perhaps even in July.

Whatever the case, in the short-term the only way to see Avengers: Infinity War is to visit the cinema.

The movie has scored the second biggest opening day ever at the US box office – behind only 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Its overall opening weekend, however, is expected to actually beat  Star Wars, according to the latest estimates.

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, it has earned $630 million in its first frame; of which $250 million is in North America and $380 million is from overseas.

The previous record-holder for US opening (Star Wars) had $248 domestically, while the previous record-holder for global opening (The Fate of the Furious) had $541.9 million – both which have been topped.

Interestingly Black Panther has had another spike, too; rebounding from number eight to number five at the US box office chart this weekend.

Avengers: Infinity War is out now.
