A Quiet Place 2 CONFIRMED: But is Emily Blunt returning?
The $17 million horror movie has been a huge hit, grossing over $235 million worldwide.
It’s no wonder then that a sequel to A Quiet Place has been green-lit by Paramount.
According to Variety, the studio’s chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos confirmed the news last week at CinemaCon.
He said: “We’re thrilled to say that we’re already working on the sequel to ‘A Quiet Place.”
WARNING SPOILERS FOR A QUIET PLACE AHEAD
Fans who saw A Quiet Place will know the movie ended on something of a cliff hanger.
Blunt’s Evelyn and the children had worked out that they can kill the monsters with Regan’s hearing aid when its high frequency is malnipulated.
With an invading beast made vulnerable, Evelyn was able to kill it by firing a shot gun at its exposed head.
Of course the noise meant that all the creatures in the area heard the noise and started running for their house.
But looking knowingly at each other the family get ready for what they know they have to do.
So assuming they survive it’s very easy for Evelyn, Regan and Marcus’ story to continue with Blunt and the two child actors returning.
However Krasinski’s Lee screamed loudly earlier in the film to sacrifice himself, while Regan and Marcus made a run for it.
While his character is dead, the actor can of course return to write and direct as he did on A Quiet Place.
Where exactly they go from here or whether they follow other characters in a spin-off remains a mystery for now.
A Quiet Place is out in cinemas now, while its sequel’s release date is to be confirmed.
