Ant-Man and the Wasp NEW TRAILER announced: 'It WILL solve Avengers Infinity War mystery'

The movie is the first MCU effort to hit cinemas in the wake of Infinity War, which landed to record-breaking box office figures last week.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily were nowhere to be seen, and with their own new caper set in the time before Infinity War, it seems we may find out what happened to them.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will launch its new trailer tomorrow (Tuesday), with Marvel saying on Twitter: “Where were Ant-Man and the Wasp during Marvel Studios’ @Avengers: #InfinityWar?

“Find out and see the new trailer for #AntManandtheWasp tomorrow!”

They also released a short video showing various Marvel stars wondering about their whereabouts – with Scarlett Johansson saying: “Where were Ant-Man and the Wasp?!”

Tom Hiddleston quips: “Maybe they were there? They’re pretty tiny and there were definitely some ants on Wakanda, so…”

Rudd and Lily are both confirmed to star in next year’s Avengers 4, so it’s safe to assume that the reason they were missing from Infinity War is that they died.

In fact, a report earlier today claimed Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place DURING the events of Infinity War.

SFGate cited an official synopsis as hinting that the film begins in the immediate aftermath of Captain America: Civil War before showing what Ant-man and the Wasp are up to while everyone else is busy battling Thanos.

The first Ant-Man film came out in 2015 and was a success, scoring 82% from Rotten Tomatoes and making $519 million at the worldwide box office.

In the grand scheme of the 19 MCU movies released so far, it is the 12th best-reviewed and 16th highest-grossing by worldwide totals (only Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Incredible Hulk fared worse).

Avengers: Infinity War busted a slew of box office records: it had the highest opening weekend of all time in the US (beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and worldwide (beating The Fate of the Furious).

Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t the only Marvel film due before Avengers 4: we’ll also get the 1990s-set Captain Marvel in March 2019.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is out on August 3 in the UK.
