Avengers Infinity War RECORD box office BIGGER than expected: Guess how many MILLIONS?

It’s monumental.

Avengers Infinity War is the biggest superhero film ever in terms of sheer scale.

The 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the third film in what is about to become the highest-grossing film trilogy ever, over 70 characters – and this is only part 1.

Now the opening weekend box office figures are in and they are truly astounding.

Over the weekend a prediction was released that Avengers Infinity War would take $250 million in the US, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ all-time record of $248 million.

Meanwhile the expected worldwide opening was $630 million, far beyond the previous record held by Fast and Furious 8 at $541.9 million.

But now the four-day opening total is in and the final numbers are even bigger than expected, smashing expectations.

Avengers Infinity War took $258.2 million domestically and an earth-shattering $640.9 million worldwide.

Meanwhile in the UK it opened with £29.4 million, the biggest April opening ever, although the latest James Bond movie Spectre remains the overall winner with £41.3 million

According to The Hollywood Reporter it’s the Marvel brand which has been established over the last decade and is now accumulating in Avengers Infinity War.

With such a geek-out over the superhero crossover of superhero crossovers on offer, no wonder fans have been making second, third and even fourth return visits to the cinema just over it’s opening.

Meanwhile another factor will be the success of Black Panther and seeing the character and his country of Wakanda playing pivotal roles in the movie.

But this is just part one of the conclusion – who knows how much Avengers 4 will make next April.
