WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Avengers – Infinity War.

The Marvel movie ends with half of the universe’s population being completely destroyed, after Thanos successfully collects all of the Infinity Stones.

So as 50% of all living things disappear, would you be one of the lucky ones who survive?

Luckily a new website has gone viral, telling users whether or not they would have survived.

To find out if you would have been killed, head to didthanoskill.me – and see if you would have been obliterated or spared.

Visitors have a 50% chance of seeing “You were spared by Thanos”, and a 50% chance of getting “You were slain by Thanos, for the good of the Universe.”

Fans have been screen-grabbing their results and sharing them on social media, and it’s fast become the latest of many memes to materialise from the huge blockbuster.

Superhero fatalities included Black Panther King T’Challa, Spider-Man Peter Parker and many more – but the writers have indicated in a new interview that they’re not as reversible as many fans are assuming.

But speaking to Buzzfeed, writer Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely defended the decision to have King T’Challa, for example, be a victim of the Snap.

“First of all, we would do it all over again,” McFeely insisted.

“But remember, when we’re writing [Infinity War], and even shooting, there is no Black Panther movie. We don’t know it’s going to be so good, so effective, so resonant.

“And we had to treat all these characters the same. People who leave us [in Infinity War] are the leads of their own franchises. And Black Panther’s no different.”

Markus added: “We wanted that thing that happens at the end of that movie to have as much impact as possible.”

The film has had enormous box office success since its release, scoring the biggest opening weekend gross of all time in the US.

Avengers: Infinity War is out now.
