Avengers Infinity War: Is Lady Sif DEAD? Directors reveal devastating news for Avengers 4

The blows just keep coming.

By the end of Infinity War the death toll is absolutely catastrophic but a new interview with Anthony and Joe Russo tempted fate by asking about the fates of the many other popular  characters that were not shown on screen during the end scenes or in the film at all.

After hiding the truth for so long, the directors were shockingly blunt about some of them, categorically confirming they had died. 

Obviously, stop reading now if you have not seen Infinity War and do not wish to know who dies.

WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS

Thor has lost more people than anyone, even before the start of Infinity War.

Ragnarok took the Wariors Three from him, killed by Hela, as well as his father, Odin.

Avengers 3 made him watch the deaths of Heimdall and Loki, along with countless other Asgardians whe Thanos and teh BlackOrder culled half of them on their escape ship.

Lady Sif is virtually the only remaining link to his past and was mysteriously missing during the events of Thor Ragnarok. Her fate has just been revealed.

Actress Jaime Alexander confirmed that she had wanted to return as Sif in Thor Ragnarok but was told about the filming schedue too late to avoid conflict with her current show, Blindspot.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige blithely explained Lady Sif’s absence during Thor 3: “Sif was probably banished (by Loki). She’s off somewhere.”

In a new interview The Huffington Post bluntly asked the Russos if Lady Sif, wherever she was, had survived The Snap.

Joe Russo said one word: “Gone.”

The directors were less clear revealing the fate of other characters like Black Panther’s Shuri and Nakia, Spider-Man’s Aunt May and Ned, or Thor’s new Ragnarok playmates Korg and Miek.

In each case they took took the evasive (but revealing) option of pleading spoilers, which seems to imply they all survived.

Unfortunately, the sad absence of Lady Sif has become the even sadder demise. A rather unfitting end for a character who never had the chance to show her full potential.
