Captain Marvel movie: Carol Danvers’ HUGE powers confirmed – ‘The most powerful hero ever’

The character, aka Carol Danvers, will be played by Brie Larson when she arrives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in her own solo movie next March.

Fans who are already familiar with her from the comics know that she is among the most powerful heroes ever, and Feige has said that this is still the case on the big screen.

“You’re going to get the most powerful superhero that we’ve ever introduced with, I think, one of the most unique and inspiring origin stories,” he told Variety.

Expanding on the movie’s 1990s backdrop, he added: “In the ’90s there were things called video stores!

“You could go into video stores and you could pick up VHSs and decide what movies you wanted to go see. I miss that. That was fun.

“We’re doing certain sets that look like that and it’s fun to be back in that era because I’m old.”

Nick Fury, played by Samuel L Jackson, will play a central role in the movie, and Feige hinted that it will show how he got to where we see him for the first time at the end of the late-00s Iron Man.

“He encounters certain things in this movie. It sets him on that path that leads us to where we are 19 films later,” he hinted.

Captain Marvel was alluded to at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, when Nick Fury contacted her in the post-credits sequence.

Larson will also appear in the role in the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4, which is out in May 2019.

Also in the cast of her own origin story will be Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Annette Bening, Lee Pace, Ben Mendelsohn nd Jude Law among others.

Bening remained tight lipped about her role when quizzed on US TV show The View last week.

Captain Marvel is out on March 8, 2019.
