James Bond: Superman star Henry Cavill 'READY' to replace Daniel Craig after Bond 25

Bond 25 is still on the horizon and sometimes it feels like 25 years since the previous OO7 outing.

Between Craig’s reticence and the upcoming rumours of studio Warner Bros being up for sale, the next movie keeps being pushed back in the schedules.

Which means the reports about who is lining up to take over have cycled through Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddelston and Jack Huston. Remember when Poldark made Aiden Turner the hot favourite and McMafia did the same for James Norton? 

Everyone keeps forgetting the man who Craig narrowly pipped to the post back in 2005. Cavill has just revealed where he stands now.

Cavill came very close the first time, but was seen as too young for the role.

Now, at 35 he is approaching the age or his rival when he clunched the coveted role. Craig was 37 when replaces Pierce Brosnan. Cavill will be 36 when Bond 25 is expected to hit cinemas in 2019, with the next movie likley a few years after that. 

Cavill has finally spoken out about his readiness for the role.

He told Empire magazine: “I know the idea of playing Bond is one that really tickles me. I think that would be enormous fun.

“It all depends on who the people at the top want. I’m sure they’re going to be making decisions in the next coule of years about who the next Bond is.

“Hopefully I’m at least on their list.”
