Bumblebee movie TRAILER: Transformers prequel gets first action-packed teaser – WATCH

The multi-billion dollar Transformers franchise is finally getting its own spin-off.

But this isn’t just any, it’s a full on prequel for Bumblebee set over 30 years ago.

The official synopsis reads: “On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town.

“Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.”

It continues: “When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.”

Meanwhile Cena plays Burns, an agent of Sector 7 and Bumblebee will face a Deception than transforms into a red 1971 Plymouth GTX.

Michael Bay has directed all the Transformers movies to date, but this one is being helmed by Travis Knight.

The animator directed Kubo and the Two Strings a couple of years ago and Bumblebee is his second movie.
