Avengers Infinity War: Samuel L Jackson drops bombshell about THAT end credits scene
The sequence at the very end of the record-breaking Marvel blockbuster saw Jackson’s Nick Fury seeing half of humanity get wiped out thanks to Thanos and his newfound Infinity Stones.
He sent a transmission of some kind to an off-screen Captain Marvel before turning to dust himself.
But in a new interview, Jackson has admitted that he had no idea he was meeting that kind of demise.
“I had no idea, it [Fury’s death] came out of the blue,” he told Vulture, adding that he was asked to film the sequence while in the middle of shooting the Captain Marvel solo movie.
He also confirmed that he didn’t know Fury too would perish until he saw the final cut.
“Who’s really dead, and who’s really in the flaky wind of Marvel dust, I don’t know, but I do know there’s a solution that they didn’t even have to tell me, just because I know who Captain Marvel is and what all that means,” he added.
If any further hint was needed that Captain Marvel will be an integral part of Avengers 4, there you have it.
Brie Larson is currently filming the highly-anticipated movie, which is due for release next March – weeks before Avengers 4.
Last week Larson confirmed Captain Marvel – aka Carol Danvers – has extraordinary powers, and can even move planets.
“She’s so strong – she can move planets,” she told E! “So for me, it was like – ‘how far can I go with this strength?’”
Asked what fans should expect, she mused: “They should get excited. I’m really proud of what we’re making.
“I really think all the hype and anticipation will be worth it.”
Captain Marvel will also star Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Gemma Chan, Lee Pace and Jude Law among others.
Captain Marvel is out on March 8, 2019.
