Queen at Royal Ascot 2018: Ladies Day in pink wearing brooch with a touching history

The Queen, 92, arrived at Ascot again today.

Her Majesty is very found of horses and races, and has attended everyday of Royal Ascot 2018 so far.

Today she wore a pink jacket over a pink dress with a floral print.

Despite the hot weather she wore white gloves and accessories the look with a pearl necklace.

Her hat had a wide brim and had two multicoloured roses.

The Queen wore the Centenary Rose Brooch today, a piece with a special meaning for her.

A smallish piece of jewellery, the brooch was commissioned by the Queen for her mother.

However, when the Queen Mother passed away Queen Elizabeth II took the piece back into her collection.

The brooch has a rose in the centre, hand painted onto rock crystal.

It is framed with 100 brilliant-cut diamonds.

She was joined by Princess Beatrice, 29, and Eugenie at the event.

The event has been a hit with the royals, and Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, attended the first day.

Harry and Meghan at Ascot was an excitement moment for fans of the new duchess. 

Meghan Markle wore white Givenchy on the occasion, a throwback to her wedding day. 

She wore a black and white hat and a white coat with floral brocade detail.
