Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles the Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Salisbury today.

The Duke of Cornwall is visiting the town in Wiltshire after the poisoning attack.

They are having a meeting with Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey who was poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok when he helped during the attack on the Skripals.

The town, near Stone Henge, has reportedly suffered with a slump in tourism since the attack.

However, the royals are hoping to turn that around with some positive PR.

The two senior members of the Royal Family are missing the fourth day of Royal Ascot to make the visit.

Kensington Palace said of the day visit: “The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Salisbury in recognition of the recovery programme that is happening in the city.

“Their Royal Highnesses will tour businesses and meet local people in the city centre, before joining a reception in the Guildhall, Market Place, Salisbury, Wiltshire.”

Yesterday Camilla Parker Bowles attended a family event.

Opting for something a little more simple than her heavily embroidered coat and dress from Ascot the day before, Camilla’s cream dress was simplistic and elegant, fitting her like a glove.
