Royal Ascot 2018 best dressed: Day four sees models and athletes compete for most stylish
Royal Ascot day is is in full swing, with today day four of the five-day horse racing meet.
The racing event is the most valuable and prestigious in the UK, with thousand of people descending on the Berkshire racecourse to watch prized horses compete.
With day four well underway, the ladies were out in their hoards, with some impressing in the style stakes, and others not so much.
Yesterday was Ladies day, with a host of beautiful women who attended, all dressed to the nines and setting the bar even higher for day four.
Known for her strong performance on the track, Olympic track cyclist Victoria Pendleton also gave a strong performance in the style department.
In the Longings box with a host of other famous faces, she opted for a delicate, pink sheer midi dress, that hung loosely around her tiny frame.
She matched it with a intricate netted and ribboned fascinator, and oxblood leather clutch and scrappy sandals to finish it off.
Dressage rider Linnea Aaflot also made an appearance on day four, this time just spectating in a gorgeous lavender floor-length lace gown.
With long, lace-embroidered sleeves and a tight waist with a pleated satin skirt, she ticked the Ascot boxes. Finishing the look with a large lilac hat with touched detailing.
Also spotted in the boxes was model Jodie Kidd, who was watching the races with Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery.
While Michelle’s green outfit was slightly reminiscent of curtains, Jodie’s flowing, floor length pink dress was the epitome of summer.
Featuring floral embroidery on different shades of pink and cream, the dress was tiered to the floor, which she matched with a small, simple pink fascinator with cream and pink roses on top.
Another lady at Ascot knew what worked well for her curves in a tight-fitted, high neck white midi dress with floral patterns emblazoned on it.
She wore nude court heels and a large white hat with mesh to match.
Out in the crowds, a woman was spotted in a summery white fishtail midi dress, with straps and a wrap around bust, showing off some cleavage.
She accessorised the white look with a small black fascinator and red clutch bag, for an understatedly glamorous look.
TV presenter Charlotte Hawkins attended the race again today, wearing a stylish burgundy jumpsuit with floral red shoulder detail and matching hat.
However, it didn’t all runs smoothly in the style department at Royal Ascot today, with many Britons arriving to the races in the zaniest hats the festival had seen this year so far.
One woman wore a hat that shape of a large five point star with a rose in the middle. Another wore a hat in the shape of the spitfire, a famous plane used in battle.
A towering hat of flowers and fake butterflies sat on one woman’s head.
