Incredibles 2: How long is the sequel? Can you take children under 5 to see it in cinema?

The sequel to Pixar’s 2004 smash animated hit is still a few weeks away from being screened in UK cinemas.

While Incredibles fans seem comfortable with waiting, some still might want to know how long the movie itself is going to be.

How long is Incredibles 2?

Incredibles 2 runs two hours and five minutes, making it a full minute longer than Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

For a family with small kids, that might be a long time to get them to sit still.

Can you take small children to see Incredibles 2?

Incredibles 2 is rated PG for mild bad language and violence according to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

PG stands for Parental Guidance, which the BBFC describes as “general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children.

“A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older.”

“Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children”

Children under age 5 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian, in case they are unsettled as the animated sequel is slightly darker than its predecessor.

Children who connect much closer to animated characters (as children often do) may be frightened by the intensity of Incredibles 2.

He doesn’t finish the sentence, but for parents who have concerns about swear words around their children, they may want to cover their kids’ ears.

The BBFC states: “There is mild bad language (‘crap’). There is also very mild bad language (‘God’).

“Mild violence includes villains and heroes kicking and punching each other.

“In one scene a villain attacks a woman by electrocuting her with a cattle prod.

“However, this is in the context of an animated hero adventure”
