secured a victory over the South American country on penalties, reaching the World Cup quarterfinals.

England fans took to the streets in a spontaneous celebration of the victory, invading streets around Borough Market and London Bridge in .

Video captured in the London nightlife hotspot shows jubilant fans in the middle of Borough High Street jumping with joy to mark the 4-3 shootout victory.

The ecstatic group can also be heard chanting “It’s coming home, it’s coming home” from the 1996 song Three Lions by The Lightning Seeds.

TfL warned of blocked streets on Twitter: “Southwark Street is currently blocked at Borough High Street, which is itself blocked northbound by a large group of celebrating football fans. #itscominghome.”

England had looked on course for their first win in a knockout round of a tournament in 12 years when captain Harry Kane struck a well-taken penalty in the 57th minute.

But Colombia defender Yerry Mina snatched a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser with his third goal in three matches to force extra time which ended with the game level at 1-1.

Things looked set to go pear-shaped when Jordan Henderson’s penalty was saved, only for Mateus Uribe’s spot-kick to rattle the bar and goalkeeper Pickford to deny Carlos Bacca.

Eric Dier kept his composure in the Spartak Stadium cauldron, propelling the Three Lions to a famous 4-3 shootout win after it ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time.

England penalty hero Eric Dier: “It was a nervous one.

“I’ve never really been in a situation like that before but felt I had to score after missing the header at the end so I’m just thankful I scored!

“Jordan Pickford is a fantastic goalkeeper and deserves everything. His attitude is brilliant and he’s been brilliant in training and taken it into the game.

“To get knocked down like we did is difficult to come back from it. We knew what we had to do and we stayed calm. We never panicked. We were ready for that.”

England will face off Sweden on Saturday, July 7 at 3PM.
