Queen Elizabeth, 92, stepped out just days after a health scare saw her cancel an engagement in a rare move by the royal.

Today, she greeted guests at Holyrood Palace in a bold floral dress in pink hues.

As always, she matched her outfit with a bold pink hat with feather decorations.

A pink perspex umbrella was added to the look along with a pearl necklace and matching earrings and white gloves.

Sensible black loafers were also part of the look, most likely chosen to avoid sinking into the lawn.

She was joined by her sons Prince Andrew and Prince Edward and mingled with the guests.

The Queen also met former Scottish rugby player Doddie Weir who was celebrating his 48th birthday today.

The garden party, with 8,000 guests, was to reward public service in the local community.

Performances of the evening included The Royal Marine Band of Scotland, The Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and The Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society.

Queen Elizabeth also stepped out earlier today in a different outfit to meet Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

The 92-year-old welcomed Ms Sturgeon during her week-long stay in Edinburgh at Holyrood Palace.

Continuing her love of florals, the Queen chose a white long sleeved dress that was accentuated with blue flowers.

Keeping her matching pearl earrings and necklace, she forewent a hat and gloves due to being a more informal meeting.

The look was completed with some black pumps and a gold watch.

Ms Sturgeon and the Queen then had a private chat to share their thoughts on recent issues in the country.

The Queen appeared to be in good health after pulling out from an engagement at St Paul’s Cathedral last Thursday.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement: “The Queen is feeling under the weather and has decided not to attend this morning’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St Michael and St George.

“Her Majesty will be represented by The Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order.”

However no doctor was called and she travelled later that day.

She has since begun her week of events in Scotland this week and is expected to join Prince William and Kate Middleton for the christening of Prince Louis next week.
